Daniel Wang had promised a long time ago to compose a track for Basenotic. No doubt, this was worth the waiting !








Daniel Wang has built his reputation by re-creating and finessing the 70’s disco sound with added weird Wang-ness. “Echo by Midnight” combines a classic disco groove with catchy strings, synths lines, and amazing breaks.

On B side, Daniel Wang introduces his little protégé from New York, Carlos Hernandez. An astonishing dark disco sound, under influence of Giorgio Moroder and John Carpenter’s soundtracks.

His international debut, the epic, “Shyboy, Shyboy, 1...2...3...” was released as the B-side to Daniel Wang’s Balihu #10. This provided Carlos with his first acclaimed media exposure.

The recording took about a year to complete, and was finally mixed at Headgear Production (Brooklyn, New York) with the help of engineering whizkids Alex Lipsen, and Daniel Wang.
